The Europa Humanistica International Research Network and Book Series Moves to the University of Tokaj

Between 5 and 7 October 2026, the University of Tokaj hosted the Sárospatak working meeting of the international Europa Humanistica research network. The programme was established on the initiative of Jean-François Maillard at the Institut de recherche et d’histoire des textes (IRHT) in Paris. As part of the programme, the Europa Humanistica book series, published by Brepols (https://www.brepols.net/series/EH), was established in 1999, and from 2017 the coordination of the programme was based at the Centre d’Études Supérieures de la Renaissance (CESR) in Tours.

The most important outcome of the Sárospatak meeting was the transfer of the coordination of Europa Humanistica from Tours to the University of Tokaj, where the direction of the programme has been taken over by Dávid Molnár, Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Cultural Heritage Studies. The participants reviewed the network’s current research projects and forthcoming volumes and discussed the framework for future international cooperation and publishing activities with Brepols. Europa Humanistica will continue its work as an international research network and scholarly book series under the coordination of the University of Tokaj.
