Our University was represented in South Bohemia by Dr. Kornélia Toma

A delegation of six people, including Dr. Kornélia Toma, Rector's Commissioner travelled to České Budějovice, the “capital of South Bohemia”, and to Sárospatak's twin town Jindřichův Hradec to strengthen and build new relations. The meeting was organised by former Czech Consul Milan Šimko, who is still actively promoting relations between our cities.

The delegation was led by Dr. Szabolcs Farkas, Mayor of Sárospatak, and included Dr. Gergő Szabó, notary, Krisztián Braun, municipal councillor, Nikoletta Krizsó, teacher from the Reformed Secondary and Primary School of Sárospatak, and Zsolt Viczmándi, teacher and chairman of the Human Committee and municipal councillor from the Vay Miklós Reformed Technical and Vocational School and Student Home.

During the official visit, Dr. Kornélia Toma, Rector's Commissioner, presented the fields of study of the University of Tokaj on several occasions, with a strong emphasis on common points of connection: the work of the Czech-Moravian Comenius in Sárospatak (who came to Patak 375 years ago), the teacher training that preserves his spirit, the Rákóczians' connection to Patak, the cultural heritage and the cultural landscape of the historic Tokaj wine region, a World Heritage Site in Hungary, and the related courses in humanities, engineering and economics.

The meeting strengthened our twinning ties and opened up new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education, culture and tourism.
