Successful contributions by colleagues at University of Tokaj to recent conferences of European Association of Wine Economists and American Association of Wine Economists
We are glad to share that our esteemed colleagues, Tamás Köpeczi-Bócz and Péter Gál represented us in person at two prestigious conferences:
- The 3rd Conference of the European Association of Wine Economists in Lecce, Italy (12-14 June).
- The 16th Annual Conference of the American Association of Wine Economists (AAWE) in Lausanne, Switzerland (1-5 July, 2024).
In Lecce, Tamás Köpeczi-Bócz presented his research on grape marc and its process to products of high value (e.g. functional food, cosmetics) in the section on sustainable management.
Meanwhile, in the section on Markets, Péter Gál presented their paper co-authored by Dániel Homolya and Csaba Novák on grape prices
In the Lausanne conference, Tamás Köpeczi-Bócz, had the honour to chair the section on Tech & Innovation and presented his research on quality differentiation and innovation strategies in the global wine industry on the example of the Tokaj wine region. Additionally, Attila Loibl from Corvinus University of Budapest represented his research with Dániel Homolya on technology-enabled value chain transformation in the wine industry at the AAWE conference.
In the section on production, Péter Gál presented two papers. The first paper authored by Péter Gál, with the co-authorship of Dániel Homolya and Csaba Novák introduced three new grape varietal indices to measure varietal typicity and uniqueness and applied on the assessment of Austrian and Hungarian PDOs and PGIs. In the paper by Csaba Novák with the co-authorship of Dániel Homolya and Péter Gál analysed the impact of ownership patterns on firm performance in Tokaj wine region.
Congratulations to Tamás, Péter, Dániel, Csaba for their contributions and for showcasing the innovative research from the University of Tokaj on such esteemed international platforms!
