The 7th Reformed Church History Conference of Transylvania was organized in Nagyneyed between 19-20 May by the Protestant Theological Institute Of Cluj-Napoca. This time the event was entitled The overall necessity of schools. At the conference, several members of the School Towns and their Hinterlands Research Group of the School Towns Research Institute of the University of Tokaj gave presentations. Sándor Előd Ősz presented on the era of Bethlen college in Gyulafehérvár, Róbert Oláh on the entries of the Transylvanian students found in German-Foldish album amicorums, Dávid Csorba on the Nagyenyed students studying in Zurich, and Ádám Hegyi on the disputations of Hungarian interest held in Basel between 1586 and 1789. Alex Durovics talked about the composition of students of Lutheran lyceums between 1790–1850, while Réka Bozzay presented reports on the Debrecen college’s relations with the Netherlands, Switzerland and England.
The research group will continue their coordinated performance at the church history conference of the University of Miskolc 9-10th June, and at the book presentation of Róbert Oláh at our institution in Sárospatak 17th June.
